About this course
Aesthetic clinics hold special category health data, photographs and payment details. This course explains UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 in plain terms for practitioners: lawful bases, special category conditions, privacy information, retention, security, breaches and individual rights.
It also covers professional confidentiality, which goes beyond data law, including conversations, messaging apps, social media and what can and cannot be shared.
Who it is for: Practitioners and anyone handling client information.

- Identify the personal and special category data a clinic processes.
- Choose and record a lawful basis and special category condition.
- Write or check a privacy notice and manage consent for marketing.
- Recognise a data breach and respond within the required timeframes.
- Handle subject access requests and keep confidentiality in everyday practice.
