What do I need before a dermal filler course?

Entry requirements

For Foundation Dermal Fillers you need: Level 3 Beauty Therapist, or six months in SPMU with anatomy and physiology, or a microblading or microneedling qualification.

If you do not hold one of these yet, Fast Track into Aesthetics is built for people without the usual beauty prerequisites.

Check your insurance before you book

Before you book, please check with an insurer that you will be able to get insurance for this treatment once you have completed the course. Insurers set their own requirements, and we cannot guarantee that an insurer will cover you.

Many insurers require at least six months' needle experience before they will insure injectable treatments. If you are new to injecting, please check this with your insurer first.

How to prepare

The course is 1 day, plus pre-course home study. You study theory, anatomy revision and product knowledge at home before you attend, then spend a day in clinic in a small group with live models provided by the Academy.

This online course provides theory and professional development. It does not, by itself, confirm hands-on practical competency. Where practical competency is required, appropriate supervised practical training and assessment should also be completed.

After the foundation course

Advanced Dermal Fillers asks for six months of foundation filler experience. Lip Master's asks for a foundation filler certificate plus experience.
